Beware! Dogs Live Here!

On one freezing morning of last week December 2019 in Vikaspuri, West Delhi, I came across a pair of street dogs with a few puppies snuggled close to them with their eyes shut.

They looked so cute and I had a strong temptation to click their photograph with my cellphone, but I didn’t have the heart to take advantage of their adversity without doing anything to help them. I do regret, I must admit, losing a great photo-op that day, but I console myself with the thought that I may get a better opportunity next time in happier circumstances.

On my way home that evening, however, I got a pleasant surprise. The dogs were enclosed in a shed with some food kept there for them.

Well, I guess, there is a Jesus inside each one of us who understands what it is to be born to be homeless, hungry, and shiver through cold, chilly nights…

May God bless that Good Samaritan who made this arrangement for the family.

Delhi Winter 2019…On 30 December…

Winter 2019, in Delhi, has broken all previous records of minimum temperature. Today, 30 December 2019, it was around 1.4 at Lodhi Gardens! Last time it was this cold was in 1901….

Are, Chaddi Pehen Ke Phool Khila Hai!

I got a pleasant surprise today morning (23 December 2019) when I saw this Aloe Vera plant. It held aloft its long stalk of lovely, pink flowers with great pride!

It reminded me of the popular Hindi song ‘Are, Chaddi Pehen Ke Phool Khila hai’ from the TV serial Jungle Book -Mowgli. Its literal meaning is ‘Wow, the flower is blooming with its underwear on!’

The song was created by Bollywood’s lyricist Gulzar and music director Vishal Bhardwaj.

Thank You, Ms. Jindal

Sleep, blissfull sleep, sleep…

This cute love seat here gives credit for its existence to an elected government representative Ms. Sarita Jindal. That’s what the inscription written in Hindi on the bench indicates.

Well, elections are going to happen in Delhi soon and this is probably just a promotional stunt…But that’s how it should be in a democracy, isn’t it?

Candidates should focus on development rather than trivial issues like religion and caste which have no place in a secular, diverse country like India. Only then can we sleep blissfully like this dog…

Well, God knows where CAA and NRC, which discriminate on the basis of religion, will take us to…😔☹ī¸đŸ˜ļ
